The Studio presents a five-day program which delves into a wide variety of imaginative art projects which suits young tactile and visual learners who wish to learn alongside some of the Studio’s professional artists. In a group setting, participants can artistically explore the potential of unexpected materials while the interchanging weekly themes promote learning about endangered animals and the fascinating flora and fauna of their environment.

Get Accustomed to Acrylics! Exploring one of the fundamental mediums of image making will take participants into a world of colour mixing, mark making and subject exploration. The leading artist will provide young learners with the skills and techniques they need to plan their masterpiece and execute a unique piece.

Transforming with Textiles! With the direction that the young artists explore in the traditional painting stage, they will be encouraged to physically bring their creations to life in a tangible way, using found and fabricated materials. In this stage, they can experiment with texture in a collage application method which adds a layer of three-dimensionality to their artwork.

Marking Metals! Learn about the history of engraving while learning the fine art of metal embossing! Using flat pieces of metal, young artists with learn to explore a variety of mark making methods, which they can incorporate into their pressed designs that build upon themes of nature.

Steal the Show with Sculpting! Delve into the practice of sculpture using polymer clay where guests learn the basics of bringing animals and objects to life three-dimensionally. Young artists can choose whether they want their creation to fit into the themes of their previous creations and learn how to use everyday items as tools to introduce texture to the surfaces of their work!

Design Suspended Creations! Using a variety of materials offered at the studio, young artists will be able to combine the skills they have honed from each of the prior projects to design and fabricate suspended sculptures which can be hung up for a 360-degree view of their unique nature themed piece!
At the end of the course series - the Students will be invited to participate in a Gallery Show at The Studio. Each young artist will present 2-3 of their favourite works. They will be in charge of presentation and for inviting their friends and family to come out and see their work. Refreshments and diplomas will be provided by The Studio!
